The law firm Womble Bond Dickinson advised the shareholders of Cleveland containers on a major minority investment transaction in the company by LDCsthe leading mid-market private equity firm in the UK.

The successful family business, which was crowned Teesside Business of the Year at the North East Business Awards last week, will work with LDC, the private equity arm of Lloyds Banking Group, to support its next stage of growth. Use this investment to advance its expansion plans and improve the sales and rental offering, which will create new jobs and opportunities for existing employees.

Cleveland Containers is run by husband and wife Johnathan and Jane Bulmer, specializing in the supply of shipping containers and on-site accommodation units for sale and rent. Having secured a number of successful contracts with national home builders, construction companies, high street retailers and used container conversions for hospitality projects including BATTERY Seaburnthe company has continued to expand and currently serves more than 4,500 customers.

The WBD team advising Cleveland Containers was led by Partner Robert Phillips, Partner James Cook and Partner David Ridley, from the firm’s Newcastle and Leeds corporate and private equity teams.
