The Works, Superdrug and Santander at a prime location in Uckfield which was purchased as an investment by a Sussex based company.

Three premier Uckfield stores are included in an investment deal secured by Lawson Commercial on behalf of a Sussex-based real estate company.

The freehold purchase of 11-15 High Street includes leased stores from The Works, Superdrug and Santander Bank.

A spokesperson for Lawson Commercial said the premises belonged to a Guernsey-based investment firm advised by a London surveyor firm.

Locks

The spokesperson added: ‘It seems they felt that following the pandemic and lockdowns, owning High Street stores in small towns might not be the best investment.

“However, we believe they have misinterpreted the market as our experience, based on our local knowledge, is that small town Sussex retail has been extremely strong over the past 18 months.

“The acquisition is showing particularly good performance under the current market conditions, and our customers are very satisfied with the acquisition.”

Lawson Commercial have been retained as managing agents.
