The Luxembourg private bank Quintet has announcement the launch of the world’s first multi-asset and climate-neutral investment fund.

The Quintet Earth Essential Portfolio Selection (EPS) fund provides equal exposure to green bonds and low-carbon equities and offsets associated carbon emissions through reforestation activities.

Quintet Earth is a UCITS fund, which launched with €280 million in assets, seeks to deliver real impact as well as performance.

Quintet noted that all green bond proceeds are invested in projects that seek to generate positive environmental benefits.

The basket of low-carbon stocks is associated with 70% less carbon than conventional stocks, he added.

Carbon emissions are offset by the annual acquisition of carbon credits from community reforestation projects.

DWS, with 880 billion euros in assets under management, will manage Quintet Earth, a multi-currency liquid fund, with daily transactions and a recommended holding period of three to five years.

The non-profit organization Myclimate, which currently supports more than 125 climate protection projects in 37 countries, will help Quintet measure the fund’s carbon offset activities.

James Purcell, Head of Sustainable Investing at Quintet Group, said: “Quintet Earth makes a simple promise: to generate competitive long-term risk-adjusted returns while simultaneously fighting climate change.

“The structure of the fund is intentionally easy to understand because we know that when it comes to sustainable investing, everyone is tired of navigating through a jungle of jargon. The fund stands out because it is completely transparent, with an accessible “reduce, transform and delete” framework.

DWS Global Head of Passive Sales, Simon Klein, said, “DWS has a long history of providing effective index tracking solutions. We are delighted to deploy this expertise to support Quintet’s new fund, which we are sure will be a great success.
