Governor Greg Abbott and the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) have issued a temporary waiver to increase the supply of fuel to Texas. This exemption allows regulated refineries to produce fuel in accordance with all seasonal specifications and allows downstream parts of the refinery, such as terminals and retail service stations, to distribute fuel of any seasonal specification until such time. that stocks are exhausted.
This allocation will increase gasoline production and distribution while ensuring that refiners, distributors and retailers are not subject to administrative penalties for having fuel that does not meet established seasonal requirements.
“The severe winter storm created challenges with our fuel supply, but we are working tirelessly to restore fuel access to our communities,” Governor Abbott said. “These temporary waivers are helping to increase the supply of fuel to Texas and expand access to fuel in our communities.”
